How to Change the Day Length on a V Rising Server
Follow these steps to adjust the day-night cycle length on your V Rising server using the Bananaservers Peel Panel:
1. Log in to the Bananaservers Peel Panel
First, navigate to https://peel.bananaservers.ca and log in with your account credentials.
2. Stop the Server
Before making any changes, ensure that your server is stopped. This will prevent any data corruption or unintended effects while you make modifications.
3. Go to the "File" Tab
In the Peel Panel, click on the "file" tab to access your server's file management system.
4. Navigate to the Game Settings File
The two main configuration files that are used are the ServerGameSettings.json and the ServerHostSettings.json. These files are located in the /VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings directory.
5. Find the GameTimeModifiers Section
Search through the file until you find the GameTimeModifiers section. This is where day length settings are configured.
6. Edit DayDurationInSeconds
The DayDurationInSeconds parameter determines the total duration of a full day-night cycle. Change this value to adjust how long a day lasts in seconds.
7. Configure DayStart Settings
The DayStart settings determine the exact hour and minute in 24-hour format when daytime begins. Modify these values to your desired start time for the day.
8. Configure DayEnd Settings
The DayEnd settings determine the exact hour and minute in 24-hour format when nighttime begins. Adjust these values to set the desired end time for the day.
9. Save Your Changes
After making the necessary changes, press the Save Content button to apply them to your server configuration file.
10. Restart the Server
Finally, restart your server to apply the new day length settings. Your V Rising server should now reflect the updated day-night cycle duration.
